TRAVELING BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Martinsville Speedway isn’t directly served by public transit, so most fans arrive by car, shuttle, or rideshare. Camping nearby is also a popular choice, since it allows you to walk to the track on race day. Still, there are a few ways to reach the Speedway without relying entirely on your own vehicle.

Park-and-Ride Options

In past events, the Speedway has worked with local churches, schools, and community centers in Ridgeway and Martinsville to provide park-and-ride services. Fans can park at these satellite lots and ride shuttle buses directly to the track, avoiding congestion closest to the venue. Details are usually confirmed in the weeks leading up to race weekend.

Getting to Martinsville by bus or train

  • Bus: Greyhound and other intercity carriers serve nearby cities such as Greensboro, Roanoke, and Danville. From there, it’s about a 45–60 minute drive to the Speedway, so you’ll need to connect by rental car, shuttle, or rideshare.
  • Train: Amtrak stops at Danville, VA (about 45 minutes away) and Greensboro, NC (about 1 hour away). Both are good alternatives if you prefer rail travel, but again, you’ll need to complete the trip by car or taxi.

Rideshare and Taxis

Uber and Lyft operate in the region, but service can be limited in Ridgeway itself. They work best from larger hubs like Greensboro, Roanoke, or Danville if you’re willing to pay a higher fare. Traditional taxi companies are also available in Martinsville and the surrounding towns.
