TRAVELING BY CAR

Just a few miles north of downtown Ridgeway, Martinsville Speedway stands as one of NASCAR’s most historic and unique tracks. Known as the “Paperclip,” it delivers close-quarters racing and unforgettable Playoff drama. With plenty happening in the surrounding area, your race weekend can be more than just the main event.

Because of the heavy traffic on race days, Martinsville Speedway recommends fans arrive early. If you have a parking pass, make sure you read the instructions carefully – some passes carry specific entry requirements. Police officers and attendants will direct vehicles into lots as they open.

Directions

• From the South (Greensboro / Ridgeway area): Take US-220 North. Follow signs for Speedway parking as you approach Ridgeway.
• From the North (Roanoke): Take US-220 South. Continue through Martinsville and follow the signs to Speedway parking.
• From the West (Winston-Salem): Take US-158 East to US-220 North, then follow Speedway signage.
• From the East (Danville): Take US-58 West to US-220 South, then follow signs into Martinsville.

• From Roanoke, VA – 1 hour 15 minutes (65 miles via US-220 South)
• From Winston-Salem, NC – 1 hour 15 minutes (70 miles via US-158/US-220)
• From Danville, VA – 50 minutes (40 miles via US-58 West/US-220 South)
• From Charlotte, NC – 2 hours (110 miles via I-85/US-220)

Extra tips

• Expect congestion around Ridgeway and Martinsville several hours before the green flag.
• Follow the officer and attendant instructions, as traffic patterns can change on race day.
• Use only official Speedway parking lots – roadside or business parking is limited and often restricted.
• Arriving early not only saves you hassle but also gives you time to explore fan activities before the race.
