Check out these helpful tips to stay comfortable, prepared, and ready to enjoy every moment of your time at the track.

Food and Drink

Concession stands around the speedway offer all the classics, from nachos and burgers to hot dogs. Drinks like coffee, soda, beer, and bottled water are easy to find throughout the venue.

Outside food is limited – each guest may bring one small item such as a sandwich, chips, crackers, or fruit, but family-sized bags are not permitted. You may also carry one bottle of a non-alcoholic beverage. Alcoholic drinks from outside are not allowed. For full details, check the Rules for visitors section.

Communication

Save your tickets, parking info, and the weekend schedule to your phone before you leave. With big race-day crowds, cell service can slow down or drop out entirely. If you’re coming with a group, agree on a meeting spot and a backup plan in case you get separated.

Noise

Martinsville Speedway is famous for its tight, close racing – and for its sound. The short track’s grandstands trap the roar of the engines, and it gets loud fast. Earplugs are strongly recommended for everyone, and kids should always have proper hearing protection.

Taxi & rideshare

Fans arriving by taxi or rideshare services such as Uber or Lyft should head to the designated drop-off and pick-up area on the south side of the track. This location makes it much easier to get in and out compared to trying to navigate the main lots.

Weather in October

Fall weather in Ridgeway can be changeable. Afternoon highs usually range from the upper 60s to mid-70s °F (about 19–24 °C), while evenings often cool into the upper 40s or low 50s °F (8–12 °C). Rain showers are possible, so packing a light poncho is smart. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat for sunny stretches, and stay hydrated by taking advantage of bottled water or the fountains around the facility.
